Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Learning Mentor for a welcoming secondary school in North Shields. This full-time role starts in September and offers long-term opportunities with PAYE pay of £92.63–£115.00 per day.

You will work with students one-to-one and in small groups, supporting inclusion, achievement and personal development. A genuine passion for helping young people is essential, with strong communication and resilience throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Graduate with interest in supporting young people.
• Experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Help students overcome academic, social and emotional barriers to learning.
• Deliver targeted interventions to boost confidence, engagement and attendance.
• Support students with SEND, SEMH needs, ASC and ADHD.
• Encourage positive behaviour and attitudes toward learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams and parents/carers.
• Be a positive role model throughout the school day.
• Help students develop skills, resilience and confidence for the future.
