Job summary

Blandford School seeks a Positive Engagement Learning Mentor to support students across the school in overcoming barriers to learning and engaging with lessons. The role focuses on improving attendance, participation, resilience and independence, helping pupils access a broad, inclusive curriculum.

You will work with students and staff to build positive relationships, adapt strategies, and provide targeted intervention during term time (39 weeks) with occasional inset days.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people, particularly those facing barriers to education.
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships and motivate engagement with learning and school life.
• Creative, proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting young people and inspiring positive change.
• Strong commitment to inclusion and ensuring every student can succeed.
• Willingness to develop understanding of specific student needs through training and professional development.
• Ability to encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support and guidance.
