Job summary

Thornbury Community Services is seeking a Learning Disabilities Support Worker to provide person-centered care in a client’s own home in Sunderland. You’ll support a young person with ADHD, complex mood dysregulation and challenging behaviours, helping them pursue interests and develop life skills in the community.

We’re looking for caring, reliable professionals who can build lasting relationships, encourage independence and support goals in education, art, cooking and community activities.

Qualifications

• 12 months UK-based experience in a community setting.
• Confidence in maintaining risk and using physical intervention where required.
• Confidence in utilising PBS standards within services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centered care within the client’s own home.
• Maintain safety whilst making positive risk decisions.
• Enrich life and promote independence.
• Build trust and long-term relationships that make every day meaningful.
