The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning & Development Manager to join our friendly HR department. This is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

We will consider both full-time and part-time applications. Please specify your preferred hours in your application.

As the Learning & Development Manager, you will support the Head of Talent & Diversity in overseeing leadership development programs and setting the strategic direction for ‘stars’, our global skills academy. The role involves working with external suppliers to design and deliver training, implementing the firm's TED@Work membership, and line-managing the Training Coordinator.

You will be part of the Learning & Development team, led by the Head of Talent & Diversity, which includes two other L&D Managers, a Training Coordinator, and a Training Assistant. The team manages all learning, development, and talent initiatives across the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support leadership development programs for partners and senior leaders, aligning with strategic priorities.
  2. Define the strategic vision for ‘stars’, the global skills academy.
  3. Manage relationships with external training providers to design and deliver workshops, incorporating stakeholder feedback.
  4. Develop methods to evaluate the ROI of training interventions.
  5. Manage the L&D budget, ensuring strategic alignment and negotiating discounts.
  6. Supervise the Training Coordinator in managing daily operations of ‘stars’.
  7. Implement and promote the firm's membership with TED@Work.
  8. Collaborate with Marketing & Business Development to deliver client training as needed.
  9. Design and facilitate in-house sessions and panel discussions.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum three years’ relevant experience in a similar L&D role, preferably within legal or professional services sectors.
  • Experience with psychometric tools is a plus.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills, both in-person and virtual.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and diverse audiences.
  • International and commercially minded outlook.
  • Up-to-date with L&D best practices.
  • Experience managing junior staff and supporting their career development.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
