Make a Difference. Grow with Us.

Are you someone who wants their work to have real impact—and who’s ready to help shape the future of community-focused projects?

At Mobilise, we’re a growing social-purpose consultancy dedicated to strengthening communities and transforming how public services connect with citizens. We’re looking for a Charity Development Advisor who’s ready to bring their experience to a role that blends strategy, relationship-building, creativity, and social impact.

Whether you’ve worked in the charity sector, housing, community development, local government or social enterprise, this role offers you the opportunity to develop your skills, contribute meaningfully, and be part of a team that’s working with organisations to shape what change looks like on the ground.

What You’ll Do

In your first year, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-profile capacity building programme for a major housing association—supporting a diverse mix of not-for-profits across the country, from grassroots to national charities. You'll help organisations learn, grow, and thrive through tailored training and support.

At the same time, you’ll be part of a wider portfolio of projects—from community engagement and regeneration, to evaluation and strategy, working with a dynamic, collaborative team.

What’s in it for you?

  • Real impact: Support charities and social organisations to grow and thrive
  • Variety: As a social purpose consultancy we get involved in a range of projects and clients —from training to fieldwork, from strategy sessions to workshops, from planning to evaluation
  • Growth: Build your skills, try new approaches, and shape projects from the inside
  • Flexibility: Work remotely, in our London office, and on-site with clients as needed
  • Balance: We’re a team that understands life outside work—we offer flexibility to fit your needs

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and experiences. You might have worked or volunteered in charities, social enterprise, housing, or community settings. You’re likely someone who’s curious, motivated, and thrives when supporting others to grow.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working with or volunteering for not-for-profits, social enterprises, or community groups and understand the current challenges they face
  • Can build trust with people from all walks of life
  • Enjoy facilitating workshops or events, and know how to engage different audiences
  • Are confident writing reports and creating clear, accessible content
  • Are organised, responsive, and comfortable managing a mix of projects
  • Want to contribute to work that is collaborative, values-driven, high quality, and people-focused
  • Self motivated and work independently as well as enjoy working as part of a strong team

We also welcome candidates with more experience and knowledge, and these are some additional desirable qualities that we are looking for:

  • Experience supporting not-for-profit organisations to grow and become more sustainable, including through organisational diagnostics, skills audits, and tailored learning or development plans.
  • Ability to design and deliver training, coaching, or action learning—both in-person and online—to build capacity in the NFP sector.
  • Familiarity with the housing, local government, or wider civil society sectors, including direct work with communities, volunteers, or grassroots initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and digital skills, with experience in research, survey design, data analysis, and using tools such as IT systems, social media, or digital engagement platforms.
  • Confident in developing practical tools, resources, or frameworks that support learning and organisational development.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll work on a mix of project delivery and capacity-building support, including:

  • Assessing and supporting not-for-profits to build skills and strengthen their organisations
  • Helping deliver training, consultancy, events, and community engagement sessions
  • Contributing to research, evaluation, and reporting
  • Developing resources and tools to support capacity building
  • Building relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local groups
  • Helping Mobilise grow—through tender writing, learning, new ideas, and targeted communications
  • Working closely with associates and partners to deliver high-quality work
