Job summary

Scripture Union Scotland is seeking a Learning Manager to lead the development of our training provision for volunteers and staff. The role focuses on building an effective learning infrastructure, coordinating training priorities, and delivering engaging sessions across in-person and virtual formats.

You will work with HR, Volunteers Manager and departmental leads to identify needs, design courses, and implement a learning hub with robust evaluation tools to improve impact and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Track record of designing training for organisations and building a solid training infrastructure.
• Strong interpersonal skills with staff, volunteers and stakeholders.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Commitment to SU Scotland’s ethos and safeguarding policy.

Responsibilities

• Build on a recent training analysis to create an infrastructure to support learning and development.
• Partner with the HR Partner, Volunteers Manager and Departmental Leads to identify training needs and align with strategy.
• Design courses for staff and volunteers with subject matter experts and ensure outcomes are clear.
• Create a learning hub/platform to house training resources and records.
• Investigate e-learning tools (feedback/surveys) and implement for all training.
• Develop evaluation tools (feedback/surveys) and implement for all training to enable reflection and reporting.
• Arrange, develop and deliver engaging classroom and virtual training sessions.
