Job summary

GradBay is seeking a curious, people-focused Learning & Development Manager to shape how teams learn, grow and build the capabilities they need for the future. You’ll work with managers across the business to design engaging learning experiences and nurture ownership of professional growth.

You’ll develop an organisational skills framework, career pathways and assessment tools, while ensuring learning activities are accessible and linked to performance.

Qualifications

• Experience developing others and creating effective learning approaches.
• Interest in human behaviour and how AI/digital tools can support learning.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify emerging capability requirements and translate them into practical development priorities.
• Own and evolve the organisational skills framework, covering technical and interpersonal capabilities.
• Collaborate with managers to map strengths, development areas and aspirations.
• Develop resources that help teams identify colleagues with particular expertise and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Introduce effective ways of assessing capability using self-assessment, manager and peer input, and digital tools.
• Develop and maintain career pathways detailing required experience, knowledge and capabilities at different progression stages.
• Support colleagues in creating Personal Development Plans and keep them active and relevant.
• Embed development conversations and evidence of learning into performance reviews.
• Evaluate what works, gather feedback from participants and use findings to continuously improve our approach.
• Stay up to date with emerging learning practices, platforms and technologies including AI and digital productivity.
• Design coaching and mentoring, stretch assignments and project opportunities.
• Secondments and temporary role changes.
• Peer learning and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Digital learning and e-learning content creation.
• Short videos, podcasts and other bite-sized content.
• Conferences, workshops and external courses.
• Dedicated study or development time.
• Self-directed learning and reflection.
