Job summary

KING'S PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL in Dalkeith seeks a Learning Assistant ASN to support learners across P1-P7. Fixed term until 29 June 2027, 20 hours 55 minutes per week, Mon-Thu 09:40-15:20, 39 weeks per year.

Salary starts at the posted minimum and progresses with the scale; PVG registration is required for regulated work with children. Applications are invited from individuals with basic literacy/numeracy, able to work with diverse groups, and committed to inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy at appropriate level.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and pupils.
• Experience in supporting learning in a classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small group support to learners in various subjects.
• Assist in development and implementation of IEPs.
• Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers to facilitate teaching and learning.
• Foster positive relationships with learners, parents and staff.
• Maintain a safe and organized classroom and playground.
