Job summary

Midlothian Council in Scotland is seeking a Learning Assistant ASN (EAL Outreach) at Cuiken Primary School. This fixed-term position runs until 30 June 2028, with 27.5 hours per week, Mon-Thu 08:30-15:30 and Fri 08:30-12:30, totaling 39 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Evidence of basic literacy and numeracy at Standard Grade General level or SVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education, or National Certificate unit in Childcare & Education, or equivalent competency, to enable communication with staff and pupils.
• Familiar with child development and able to respond to the needs of individual pupils; previous experience in this field.
• Required to undertake additional training courses such as first aid, calm techniques, etc.
