Job summary

Midlothian Council invites applications for a Learning Assistant ASN in a Complex Needs Provision at Gore Glen Primary School. The role is 27.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with appointment to the first point on the salary scale.

The post requires knowledge of child development and experience in this field, plus willingness to undertake necessary training. PVG checks are required. Salary starts at £19,229.65 per annum.

Qualifications

• Evidence of basic literacy and numeracy to communicate with staff and pupils.
• Familiar with child development and able to respond to individual pupils.
• Willing to undertake additional training courses such as first aid and calm techniques.
• If the post is in a Nursery Environment, must be registered with or work toward SSSC registration within 6 months.
• This post is Regulated Work with Children under PVG – check requirements and disclosures.
• If you have spent time outside the UK, overseas criminal record checks may be needed.
