Purpose of the role
We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development Partner to join our HR Support Services team at our Head Office in Solihull (B37 7YB), with UK travel required. The role involves delivering training strategies, ensuring compliance, and supporting employee growth across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to influence the future of learning at Colas, working with internal and external stakeholders to enhance capability and career development.
Main Responsibilities
Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize training needs, manage training requests, and maintain accurate records. Support the implementation of the L&D strategy with the Talent Development Manager, including designing and delivering leadership and management programs. Evaluate training effectiveness, manage relationships with training providers, and oversee apprenticeship and graduate programs, including recruitment, onboarding, audits, and budget reviews. Maintain training matrices aligned with the Learning Management System and contribute to continuous improvement of L&D processes, systems, and policies.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum CIPD Level 3 qualification in Learning and Development, with proven experience in a consultative or specialist L&D role. Strong understanding of the full learning cycle and talent development strategies, excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems, and experience managing multiple projects. Knowledge of apprenticeship schemes, funding, and industry training standards is desirable. Experience in construction or industrial sectors is a plus but not essential.
