VOCAL is a carer-led organisation supporting unpaid carers across Edinburgh and Midlothian. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and skilled Learning and Development Officer to facilitate, coordinate and contribute to accessible, high-quality learning and development opportunities for our staff and volunteers. This is a newly created, hands-on role and an exciting opportunity to help shape and support learning and development across VOCAL. Working closely with the Senior Management Team, VOCAL's Learning and Development Working Group, managers, and colleagues across the organisation, you will coordinate and administer a broad range of learning opportunities for staff and volunteers. You will also contribute to the development of engaging learning resources and, where appropriate, facilitate agreed learning sessions. From coordinating mandatory and role-specific training to maintaining learning records and e-learning content, you will play an important role in supporting our workforce develop ongoing knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to deliver high-quality support and achieve positive outcomes for unpaid carers.
Due to the nature of the role, including the delivery of face-to-face learning activities and direct support to colleagues, the postholder is expected to work predominantly from Edinburgh Carers' Hub, 60 Leith Walk, Edinburgh EH6 5HB. Attendance at the Midlothian VOCAL Carer Centre in Eskbank will also be required for meetings/ training activities, together with occasional travel to other venues across Edinburgh and Midlothian.
