Job description

Alexander Lloyd is delighted to be partnering with an engineering organisation, on the recruitment of a Learning and Development Manager.

As L&D Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering their L&D strategy and defining their approach to talent development.

This newly created position within their established HR team will design and implement a comprehensive L&D strategy that aligns with their organisational goals and empowers our people to build successful careers with us.

Duties:

  1. Strong understanding and experience of learning and development, specifically designing and implementing L&D initiatives within a professional services environment.
  2. Building strong relationships with the Heads of Departments, Partners, HR department, Finance to understand the learning requirements of the business. Similarly, building strong relationships with suppliers is also an important part of the role.
  3. Experience of creating leadership development programmes, developing competency frameworks, career pathways and learning and development initiatives for everyone. Developing our LMS capability will also level up our ability to deliver online training modules to their people.
  4. Responsible for managing the training budget and developing the budget.
  5. Direct line management of one Advisory role and working closely with HR Operations to ensure the L&D administration is completed as expected.

Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as an L&D Manager or similar role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
  2. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build credibility quickly amongst key stakeholders.
  3. Experience of building leadership development programmes, competency frameworks, career pathways and learning opportunities for everyone.
  4. Project management mindset with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage budgets – commercial acumen is key.
  5. Experience of implementing an LMS would be a distinct advantage.
  6. CIPD qualified to level 5 or equivalent experience is preferred.
