The Team You Will Join

The EMEA Head of Learning & Development will be a core member of the Enterprise L&D (EL&D) Leadership team and a member of the extended EMEA HR team. This role is responsible for setting strategic direction and leading the design and delivery of scalable, high-impact learning solutions across the EMEA region for both professional development and distribution teams. The leader ensures that interventions are outcomes-driven, aligned with enterprise and regional goals, and are delivered effectively.

How You’ll Help us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead and coach the regional team to ensure the delivery of learning and development solutions aligned with enterprise strategy and talent goals.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with HR and business partners to deliver effective L&D solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Activate and leverage MetLife’s global L&D programs, including career initiatives, performance development, coaching, and leader capability building.
  • Provide strategic input to HR/talent strategy discussions, ensuring regional relevance and impact.
  • Conduct learning needs analysis using enterprise tools and templates.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards for reports and initiatives.
  • Inform curriculum development based on strategy insights and regional needs.
  • Manage the L&D delivery cycle from strategy to execution.
  • Oversee L&D budgets and finances for the region.
  • Utilize workforce analytics to identify skill gaps and inform learning pathways.
  • Lead regional change initiatives to optimize L&D impact.
  • Champion scalable L&D solutions to support employee growth and business performance.

What You Need To Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • 10+ years of experience in leadership, management, coaching, and inspiring teams.
  • Experience with needs assessment, designing, and implementing scalable learning solutions.
  • Cross-functional project management skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to link learning outcomes to business performance metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree; English language proficiency; familiarity with AI-enabled learning tools.

What Can Give You An Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience in insurance distribution or financial services.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in related fields.
  • Multilingual proficiency, consulting experience, coaching certification, change management certification.
