Roles and Responsibilities: How the Expected Outcomes are Achieved
- Produce strategic/operational L&D plans with HoHR to link L&D activities to business outcomes.
- Provide advice and guidance on all L&D initiatives, activities, and plans to line managers and employees.
- Monitor and review each business L&D budget and produce regular reports on costs/spend.
- Complete all Learning and Development related administration, e.g., training authorization forms, tracking of budgets.
- Manage and coordinate the Training Email Inbox and respond to escalated requests efficiently, e.g., booking requests, certificate requests, and information provision to clients.
- Track expiry dates of mandatory training and competencies, book refreshers as needed, and update certificates accordingly.
- Advise employees and managers on available training and development initiatives, including course information and pricing.
- Review training suppliers and ensure relevant documentation is sent for supplier approval.
- Build relationships with training and development suppliers to ensure quality service.
- Arrange meetings with HoHR and managers to schedule training and discuss priorities.
- Ensure employees and managers are aware of templates and documents for development plans.
- Create and deliver Apprenticeship and Graduate development schemes.
- Assist with Performance Reviews, ensuring actions and commitments are documented and followed up.
- Oversee probation and annual reviews and record actions.
- Ensure completion of training evaluation forms and address issues as needed.
- Support HSQE in maintaining accreditations, providing documentation, and attending audits.
- Assist HR with general HR tasks as required.
- Produce reports for HoHR for management meetings.
- Research and organize non-mandatory training based on reviews, client requirements, legislation, or industry developments.
- Contribute to designing and implementing bespoke training initiatives, including material creation and assessments.
- Lead activities related to engaging Apprentices or Graduates, such as reviews.
- Support Head of HR with IIP accreditation and other initiatives.
Requirements for the Role
- Strong administration skills, able to meet training expiry deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Strategic thinker capable of linking L&D activities to business outcomes.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- CITP Certificate in Training Practice or equivalent.
- Experience in producing internal and external communications for training engagement.
- Knowledge of training and competency requirements in the engineering industry.
- Ability to articulate information clearly at all organizational levels.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Committed to continuous personal development and current legislation.
- Maintain confidentiality, act with discretion and diplomacy.
- Previous experience in an engineering business.
- Knowledge of booking key engineering training certifications, ECS, First Aid, Manual Handling, etc.
