Job summary

ARU Writtle campus is seeking a dedicated role to support the wellbeing, behaviour and attendance of learners. You will monitor attendance, intervene to boost engagement, and provide pastoral care within a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Experience in Further Education is desirable; you will bring a proactive, empathetic approach, manage a varied workload, and work with students, teaching staff and support teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Further Education environment is desirable.
  • Proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students.
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and respond to issues around behaviour, attendance and welfare with sensitivity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with young people.
  • Adaptable and resilient — no two days are the same.
  • Committed to promoting a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor attendance patterns and support interventions to improve engagement.
  • Provide pastoral care to students facing personal or academic challenges.
  • Work with students, teaching staff and support teams to foster a positive learning environment.
