Job summary
Babcock is seeking a Waterfront Systems Engineer for the Faslane site to support submarine maintenance activities. You will help ensure the availability, reliability and safe operation of waterfront systems that back the Royal Navy's submarine fleet, working within Waterfront Engineering on a full-time, on-site basis.
Day-to-day duties include leading the Waterfront Systems team, assisting the Facility Manager to optimise resources, and delivering tasks on time, within budget and to high safety
Qualifications
- Supervisory or team leadership experience within a maintenance, repair, or engineering environment.
- Electrical maintenance experience in industrial, marine, defence or similar settings.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work and related safety practices.
- Experience developing, mentoring, and supporting team members.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Waterfront Systems team to deliver engineering and maintenance activities safely.
- Assist the Waterfront Facility Manager to maximise utilisation of people, equipment and resources.
- Ensure tasks are completed on time, within cost, quality and safety parameters.
- Implement and promote health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Identify, investigate and resolve issues affecting waterfront systems.
