Job summary

Babcock International is seeking an Engineering Support Fabricator to join the team at HMNB Clyde Faslane. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the readiness of submarines and surface ships through fabrication and repair work.

You will interpret drawings, perform various fabrication tasks, and contribute to safety and process improvements in a demanding defence environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised Welding/Fabrication/Plater Apprenticeship to SVQ Level 3 (or NVQ/City & Guilds equivalent).
• HNC or above in a relevant discipline with industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing light to heavy fabrication and structural activities to support maintenance and refit operations.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, plans, and standards to manufacture or repair systems.
• Investigating faults and determining effective repair methods.
• Completing Engineering Support work packages to ensure operational availability.
• Working within health and safety legislation and contributing to process improvements.
