Babcock is recruiting a Submarine Waterfront Representative (Platform Mechanical) to act as a bridge between submarine waterfront, maintenance environments and shipbuilders. The role focuses on embedding maintainability and supportability into design decisions from the outset, supporting long-term engineering outcomes and national security programmes.

Qualifications

• Substantial submarine waterfront experience across maintenance or delivery programmes.
• Strong understanding of submarine systems support and maintenance environments.
• Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience influencing design using operational insight.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert waterfront insight to ensure maintainability and safety of future platforms.
• Influence design decisions by identifying risks affecting through-life support and availability.
• Engage with shipbuilders, OEMs and customers to gather and share insights.
• Support programme-level decisions with clear, evidence-based input.
