Job summary

WSP is seeking a Principal or Associate Engineer (Wastewater Network Modelling) to support project delivery, supervise tasks, and review deliverables. Join a 350-strong UK team within a global water network, working with clients such as Severn Trent and Scottish Water Horizons to drive technical quality and efficient delivery.

The role offers hybrid working with training, progression opportunities, and the chance to shape the direction of a growing team across the UK.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering degree is required and chartered status is preferred, or progression towards chartership with ICE, IEI, IoW or CIWEM.
• Experience in wastewater hydraulics modelling with credible outputs checked for quality.
• Solid knowledge of Water Industry Specifications, Hydraulic Modelling Code of Practice for Urban Drainage and British Standards.
• Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop the urban drainage modelling capability and train junior team members.
• Support the team lead in managing the local technical delivery team.
• Provide technical input on urban drainage projects and support wastewater projects.
• Offer independent engineering judgement and innovative problem-solving.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and coordinate project meetings.
• Contribute to business development and proposal activities; promote the WSP brand.
• Share knowledge with the wider team through learning exercises.
