Job summary

Pets at Home is seeking a First Line Manager to lead the Stafford Fulfilment Centre team. The role focuses on operational excellence across a busy distribution site, balancing people management with safety and cost control.

You will oversee daily briefs, plan workloads, monitor attendance, and drive continuous improvement in an automated warehouse environment, using WMS and IT tools to deliver reliable service.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in logistics/warehouse/distribution environment.
• Proficient with IT and comfortable with WMS systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with investigation and disciplinary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily briefs to the team covering volumes, service levels, damages, error rate, and shift performance.
• Plan and manage day-to-day requirements of the designated area to meet demands with cost awareness.
• Monitor absence and conduct return-to-work interviews.
• Coordinate with Stock Control to rectify replenishment errors.
• Ensure all accident/incidents investigations are conducted and reported to Health & Safety.
• Plan and adjust shift patterns with clear handovers.
• Carry out disciplinary procedures up to final written warning in line with company policy.
• Liaise with agency daily regarding performance, absence, holiday and discipline.
• Coordinate with transport to consolidate loads without impacting store service.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure colleagues are briefed on regulations.
