Job summary

Carlisle Mencap is seeking a Team Leader – Supported Living to provide leadership and day-to-day supervision within the support worker team, acting as a positive role model and enabling adults with a learning disability to express their voices in decision making.

You will work within person-centred plans, monitor quality and safety, develop personalised support, and collaborate with families, carers and professionals to deliver a high-quality service in Cumbria.

Qualifications

• Willingness to engage in training and work towards qualifications relevant to the role.
• Awareness of Person-Centred Planning principles.
• Previous experience of working with people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders or Learning Disabilities.
• Experience of supervising staff.
• Ability to manage in a variety of situations.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to keep accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the support worker team, modelling positive behaviour.
• Ensure service users' health and social needs are met through person-centred planning.
• Develop relationships with families and carers.
• Monitor budgets and support service manager with policy implementation.
• Attend reviews and multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Maintain thorough records and evidence progress.
