Job summary

Royal Mencap Society in South Tyneside seeks a Service Manager to oversee supported living services, leading a team of Support Workers to deliver person-centred care and ensure residents are safe, included, and developing independent living skills.

You will mentor rotas, manage compliance, and collaborate with families, social workers, and healthcare professionals to provide tailored support plans. DBS clearance is required and interviews will be scheduled as indicated.

Qualifications

• Social care experience with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs.
• Experience managing teams, rotas, and service administration.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including out-of-hours on-call.
• Knowledge of Supported Living and PBS frameworks.
• DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Mentor: Manage your support worker team, overseeing rotas, performance, and regular training.
• On-Call Support: Participate in the local on-call rota to provide telephone advice or emergency cover outside of standard hours.
• Maintain Compliance: Ensure the York service meets all regulatory standards and strict health and safety protocols.
• Build Relationships: Collaborate closely with the residents' families, advocates, social workers, and healthcare professionals.
• Person-Centred Support: Oversee dynamic support plans tailored to each individual's choices and well-being.
