Job summary

We are seeking a committed leader to oversee supported living services in South Tyneside, heading a team of Support Workers to deliver person-centred care. You will ensure safety, social inclusion, and the development of independent living skills for residents.

Role requires social care experience with learning disabilities or autism, strong leadership, and flexibility to share on-call duties. DBS check is required, and positive relationships with families and healthcare professionals are

Job description

You will oversee supported living services in South Tyneside, leading a team of Support Workers to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You will step in to ensure individuals are safe, socially included, and actively developing their independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & Mentor: Manage your support worker team, overseeing rotas, performance, and regular training.
• On-Call Support: Participate in the local on-call rota to provide telephone advice or emergency cover outside of standard hours.
• Maintain Compliance: Ensure the York service meets all regulatory standards and strict health and safety protocols.
• Build Relationships: Collaborate closely with the residents' families, advocates, social workers, and healthcare professionals.
• Person-Centred Support: Oversee dynamic support plans tailored to each individual's choices and well-being.

Social Care Experience: Proven background supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or complex needs.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• Leadership Skills: Experience managing teams, writing rotas, and handling service admin.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work flexibly and share out-of-hours on-call responsibilities.
• Sector Knowledge: Experience Supported Living and Learning Disability, as well as familiarity with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) frameworks.
• Compliance Checks: Appointment is subject to a clear, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
