Job summary

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is recruiting a Chartered Engineer to lead the Structures Team within the Infrastructure Asset Management Section in Pontypridd. The role demands strategic oversight of bridges, retaining walls and larger culverts with technical guidance across stakeholders.

The post is based at the new Pontypridd HQ with a hybrid work pattern and a 37-hour week under flexible hours. Generous leave and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering and Chartered Engineer status with ICE/IStructE or equivalent.
• Experience leading and managing a Structures team within highway/bridges assets.
• Strong technical advisory capability across stakeholders and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Structures Team in the Infrastructure Asset Management Section.
• Oversee maintenance of highway and parks structures assets including bridges and retaining walls.
• Provide technical advice to a range of stakeholders and external partners.
