Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers is launching a brand new structural engineering division within its design-led property and architecture group, offering you the chance to join from day one and shape the function. You’ll lead live residential, commercial and mixed-use projects with genuine ownership, working in a hybrid model in Southend.

You’ll collaborate with architects, clients and contractors to influence pricing, workflows and the service offering, and build the team as the division

Qualifications

• MIStructE or close to chartership with clear timeline
• Strong UK structural engineering experience on residential and commercial projects
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and standards
• Experience delivering projects from design through to construction
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with architects, clients and contractors
• Ambition to progress into leadership roles

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and delivery across live projects from concept to construction
• Produce calculations, drawings and specifications
• Collaborate with architects to develop integrated buildable solutions
• Manage multiple projects concurrently and liaise with clients and contractors
• Establish technical standards and quality processes
• Support development of the structural engineering service and future recruitment
