Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Structural Engineer for a hybrid role with UK-wide opportunities and a focus on variety across infrastructure, buildings, energy, and industrial sectors.

Whether at Graduate/Junior level or as an experienced engineer, you will work with experienced teams, develop your technical skills and take on increasing responsibility as your career progresses.

Qualifications

• A degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience within a structural engineering consultancy or similar.
• Experience in structural design and analysis.
• Knowledge of UK design standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience with steel, concrete, timber or a combination.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive approach and genuine interest in developing your career.
• Chartered or Incorporated status, or progression towards professional qualification, advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Structural analysis and design across a variety of project types.
• Designing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and other materials.
• Developing structural concepts and practical, buildable solutions.
• Producing calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings.
• Working with modern structural analysis and design software.
• Supporting projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
• Working closely with architects, contractors, clients and other engineering disciplines.
• Solving complex engineering challenges and developing innovative solutions.
• Contributing to sustainable and efficient design approaches.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers as you develop leadership capability.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with Structural Engineers who have:

• A degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience within a structural engineering consultancy or similar environment.
• Experience in structural design and analysis.
• Knowledge of relevant UK design standards and Eurocodes.
• Experience with steel, concrete, timber or a combination of materials.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing your career.

Chartered or Incorporated status, or progression towards professional qualification, would be advantageous but is not essential.
