Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers in Hertfordshire is seeking a Structural Engineer to work on high-volume residential projects and other sectors including healthcare, commercial and industrial. You will perform structural design and analysis, prepare calculations and sketches, review drawings, and coordinate with clients, architects and the project team.

The ideal candidate has a BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering, at least three years in a consultancy, knowledge of UK standards and

Qualifications

• BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• At least three years' experience in a structural engineering consultancy.
• Good working knowledge of UK design standards and Eurocodes.
• Working towards Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE.
• Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and analysis of buildings and structural elements.
• Prepare calculations, reports and sketches.
• Review and check drawings.
• Coordinate with clients, architects and the rest of the professional team.
• Plan and monitor your own workload to agreed timescales.
