Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers in London is looking for a Civil Engineer / Structural Engineer to join a growing consultancy focused on residential refurbishment, alteration and bespoke new-build projects. You will work with senior engineers and technicians on the structural design of diverse schemes.

The role offers progression, site visits, and the option for some home working. A Civil/Structural Engineering degree and prior design experience are preferred, with Chartered status not

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related degree.
• Previous structural design experience.
• Experience across residential structures, refurbishment projects and existing buildings.

Responsibilities

• Structural design and calculations
• Developing structural schemes and designing from first principles
• Residential refurbishment, alteration and new-build projects
• Coordinating designs with architects and clients
• Identifying design risks and alternative solutions
• Preparing technical information for drawings
• Producing calculation packages and structural specifications
• Attending sites and carrying out inspections
• Managing your own projects, workload and deadlines
• Discussing designs and technical changes with the wider team
