Job summary

Varo Lounge in the UK is seeking a capable Sous Chef to join our opening team. You will work closely with the Head Chef, leading the kitchen through each service and ensuring every dish that leaves the pass is prime.

You’ll be responsible for managing prep, par, stock, waste and handovers while coaching junior chefs to build confidence and consistency. This role offers real progression within a growing hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Passionate cook with pride in fresh ingredients and high standards.
• Punctual, reliable and leads by example on the pass.
• Willing to own shifts in Head Chef's absence and manage stock and handovers.
• Coaches teammates to develop skills and deliver great food.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts from prep through to final plate.
• Support the Head Chef and cover in their absence.
• Set high standards for food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Own prep, par, stock, waste, orders and shift handovers.
• Coach and develop chefs to raise performance.
