Job summary

Pato Lounge in England is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. You will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef, ensuring every dish leaving the pass meets exact standards and that prep is completed for each shift.

You will help maintain a clean, high-standard kitchen and take ownership of your section with strong hygiene practices. This role is ideal for someone eager to grow into a senior kitchen position, with opportunities to develop under an active leadership team.

Qualifications

• Experience with fresh ingredients and strong kitchen skills (hot and cold prep, cleaning).
• Good hygiene practices and knife skills are essential.
• Strong knowledge of allergens and food safety practices.
• Self-motivated, able to work at pace with limited supervision.
• Team player who leads from the front and supports junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and ensure prep is done and dishes go out to spec.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and uphold high food standards each shift.
• Take ownership of your section, manage prep, par, cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
• Follow allergen processes to keep kitchen compliant and safe.
• Support and mentor the wider kitchen team and help juniors develop their skills.
• Know dish specs inside out and ensure every plate is of high quality.
• Be punctual, reliable and fully contribute to the team effort.
• Work with fresh ingredients and demonstrate strong kitchen skills.
