Job summary

Loungers is hiring a full-time Sous Chef at Prospero Lounge, a local café bar within our growing Loungers family. You’ll support the Head Chef, lead kitchen shifts and ensure every dish leaving the pass meets our high standards.

This role offers a competitive salary with bonus and overtime, a 48-hour contract (40-hour option available), staff meals, discounts from day one and clear progression opportunities through in-house training.

Qualifications

• A passionate cook who takes real pride in fresh ingredients and consistent quality.
• Ability to lead kitchen shifts and support the Head Chef.
• Strong standards for cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence from prep to final plate.
• Support day-to-day operations if the Head Chef is absent.
• Set tone for high standards on the pass and manage stock/shift handovers.
