Job summary

Orso Lounge, part of Loungers, is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join the kitchen team in a fast-paced cafe-bar environment.

You will lead shifts, support the Head Chef, and ensure every dish leaving the pass meets high standards. The role offers progression opportunities, a 48-hour contract (with a 40-hour option) and competitive benefits within a growing hospitality brand across England and Wales.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth from prep through to final plate.
• Support the Head Chef, stepping up in their absence and helping the kitchen deliver strong results.
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, focusing on food quality, pace, hygiene and safety.
• Own key kitchen routines including prep, stock control, waste, orders and shift handovers.
• Coach and support the team to help chefs grow and deliver great food every shift.
