Job summary

Elekta is seeking a Lead Software Developer in Test to shape quality engineering for radiation medicine software. You will lead automation framework design, mentor SDETs, and build scalable test strategies for safety-critical systems.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as Software Developer in Test, SDET, or Test Automation Engineer
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
• Proven ability to define and drive quality engineering strategies in regulated or safety-critical environments
• Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation technologies

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and evolution of automated test frameworks for complex, safety-critical software
• Define and implement test automation strategies that support high-quality software delivery
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency, reliability, and release confidence
• Serve as the technical authority for test architecture, tooling, and quality engineering best practices
• Collaborate with development teams, Product Owners, and architects to build scalable and testable solutions
• Mentor and support SDETs, test engineers, and other team members, fostering a quality-first mindset
• Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of new testing technologies, tools, and practices
• Support the investigation and resolution of complex software quality issues and contribute to long-term quality roadmaps

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Software Developer in Test, SDET, or Test Automation Engineer, including designing and owning automation frameworks
• Strong experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and implementing modern DevSecOps practices
• Proven ability to define and drive quality engineering strategies in a regulated or safety-critical environment
• Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation technologies
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence teams and promote a shift-left testing culture
• Experience troubleshooting complex software quality challenges and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and a passion for delivering high-quality, maintainable software
