Job summary

Elekta in Crawley is seeking a Lead Software Developer in Test to shape the quality engineering strategy for its safety-critical radiation therapy software. You will lead the design and evolution of automated testing frameworks and drive high standards across engineering disciplines.

You will collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and architects to implement robust test strategies, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and mentor SDETs and testers.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Software Developer in Test, SDET, or Test Automation Engineer.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and implementing modern DevSecOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Cypress, Selenium, or similar automation technologies.
• Ability to define and drive quality engineering strategies within regulated or safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and evolution of automated test frameworks for complex, safety-critical software.
• Define and implement test automation strategies that support high-quality software delivery.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency, reliability, and release confidence.
• Act as the technical authority for test architecture, tooling, and quality engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with development teams, Product Owners, and architects to build scalable and testable solutions.
• Mentor and support SDETs, test engineers, and other team members, fostering a quality-first mindset.
• Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of new testing technologies, tools, and practices.
• Support the investigation and resolution of complex software quality issues and contribute to long-term quality roadmaps.
