Job summary

Hackajob Ltd is seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Test to join an agile delivery team. You will drive test automation, define strategies, and help ensure quality across API, UI, and integration tests using Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools.

The role requires 4+ years in testing, strong automation skills, and willingness to work in a structured security-conscious environment. UK location, with standard full-time hours and competitive package.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years' experience as Software Engineer in Test, Test Engineer, or Test Analyst.
• Demonstrated experience in automated quality assurance.
• Experience delivering overnight cross-browser, functional, non-functional, API, integration, and acceptance tests.
• Experience with front-end cross-browser functional testing, device testing, exploratory testing, and UAT.
• Confidence building and maintaining frameworks in Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.
• Practical experience with open source tools such as Cypress, Karate, PlayWright, Selenium, or similar.
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Active SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an agile team helping our clients achieve their business transformation goals.
• Identify requirements, develop solutions, and provide ongoing guidance and advice in test.
• Define and execute test strategies and scripts.
• Accurately record and monitor issues.
• Support development scrum teams to automate tests and guide development.
• Review test environments and processes to facilitate continuous improvement and maintain quality standards.
• Provide test estimates.

Requirements

• We are looking for someone with at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer in Test, Test Engineer, or Test Analyst.


• We need demonstrated experience in automated quality assurance.


• We need experience delivering overnight cross-browser, functional, non-functional, API, integration, and acceptance tests.


• We need experience with front-end cross-browser functional testing, device testing, exploratory testing, systems integration testing, and user acceptance testing.


• We need confidence building and maintaining frameworks in one or more of these languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#.


• We need practical experience with open source tools such as Cypress, Karate, PlayWright, Selenium, or similar.


• We need experience working in an agile environment.


• We require active SC Clearance.
