Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council in Gloucestershire is seeking a Social Work Lead to join the new Community Reablement Service at Shire Hall. This full-time role leads a multidisciplinary team, provides professional supervision, and shapes practice to maximise independence and wellbeing for adults with care and support needs.

You will supervise Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners and Reablement Coordinators, coordinate safeguarding, and support front-door referrals, ensuring timely decisions

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
• Have successfully completed your ASYE and have significant post-qualifying experience within Adult Social Care.
• Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting professional development of staff.
• Excellent knowledge of Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding responsibilities.
• Experience leading complex safeguarding enquiries and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership, supervision and support to Social Workers, Social Care Practitioners and Reablement Coordinators.
• Promote strengths-based, person-centred practice to maximise independence and wellbeing.
• Coordinate safeguarding enquiries and advise on complex cases.
• Support the Front Door Hub and ensure timely decisions and outcomes.
