Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a Senior Practitioner in the Promoting Independence and Reablement team to lead and develop practice in line with strategic objectives. You will support practitioners, supervise casework, and ensure timely assessments and care planning to meet adults' social, health and welfare needs.

Qualifications

• BSc in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in social care.
• Ability to assess and manage risk with clear guidance.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional guidance and oversight for reablement cases.
• Assess risk, identify safeguarding concerns, and direct complex cases.
• Maintain high performance and quality standards across the team.
• Prioritise and allocate work with accurate records and clear reports.
• Support student and newly qualified staff development.
• Collaborate with reablement providers and health partners.
• Provide duty cover and contribute to referral decisions.
