Job summary

Capgemini in the United Kingdom is seeking a Lead Service Designer to shape end-to-end, human-centered, data-informed services across complex ecosystems. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, influence senior stakeholders, and blend strategy, research, prototyping, and delivery to drive transformation at scale.

This role merges strategic leadership with hands-on craft, shaping delivery standards, mentoring designers, and partnering with the Head of Experience Design to grow Capgemini’s DCX

Qualifications

• Experience leading service design through full lifecycle and influencing senior stakeholders in complex environments.
• Evidence of building design capability—mentoring designers, establishing standards, or shaping assessment frameworks.
• Fluency in service design methods: blueprinting, journey mapping, systems mapping, proposition development; leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Comfort operating in the gap between design and delivery in agile or hybrid environments and the ability to manage upwards.
• Experience across multiple sectors (public, financial services, energy, healthcare, or commercial).
• Experience with GDS Service Standard or equivalent quality frameworks in regulated industries.
• Understanding accessibility requirements and regulatory constraints relevant to service design.
• Experience with developer experience research, quantitative survey design, or operational service measurement.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled services and collaboration with technology teams to bring ideas to life.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex service and product design engagements end to end and define service strategies and future state architectures.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams to prototype, test, and launch new services and run research and insight programmes.
• Facilitate design sprints, experiments, and co-creation activities and create scalable service blueprints and journeys.
• Guide clients through complex decisions and influence long-term change.
