Job summary

Gilmartins in Houghton Regis is seeking an experienced Engineer Scheduler (Controller) to lead a team of 10–12 tradespeople in our Head Office.

You will coordinate with tenants, local authorities or housing associations, raise repair jobs, allocate to engineers and track progress through our in-house system.

The role is full-time, office-based with hours 8am–5pm, plus occasional longer hours and one Saturday or Sunday per month; opportunities for career progression are available.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to multi-task to manage a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent resource planning and administration skills.
• Experience scheduling routes and issuing jobs to engineers.

Responsibilities

• Run daily schedules for team of 10-12 trade Operatives (electricians, plumbers, etc).
• Continually liaising with trade Operatives, tenants and clients (local authority or housing association) by phone, email and live chat regarding updates on repairs.
• Arranging parts or materials for click/collect where not available from usual suppliers.
• Logging multiple engineer work requests onto the in-house job management system and tracking each request through to completion.
