Job summary

QED Legal Recruitment Limited in Manchester is seeking a Senior Conveyancing Solicitor/Manager to lead the residential conveyancing team from Spinningfields. The role combines managing a caseload with compliance, supervision and developing junior lawyers, while strengthening client and introducer relationships.

The ideal candidate has substantial experience in residential conveyancing, a strong track record of independent caseload management, and a proactive approach to business development

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales.
• Minimum of 6 years' PQE in residential conveyancing.
• Extensive experience running residential conveyancing caseload independently.
• Experience managing CQS, MLRO or wider compliance responsibilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of freehold and leasehold, Land Registry and SDLT.
• Thorough understanding of AML regulations and lender requirements.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the department's compliance with the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme, including protocol adherence and file audits.
• Supporting or holding MLRO and compliance responsibilities, including client due diligence, source of funds checks and suspicious activity reporting.
• Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior solicitors, conveyancers and support staff.
• Building strong relationships with clients, estate agents, brokers and other introducers.
• Contributing to marketing and business development activity.
• Ensuring compliance with SRA requirements and firm procedures.
