Job summary

Portman Recruitment Limited is supporting the recruitment of an experienced Registered Manager to lead a brand-new 2-bed EBD children’s residential home in Westhoughton, Greater Manchester. You will head the project from opening through to Ofsted readiness, building a capable team and embedding a positive culture for children and young people.

The role requires extensive experience as a Registered Manager in children’s residential care, plus proficiency in safeguarding and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Registered Manager within children's residential care.
• Experience opening or mobilising a new children's home.
• Experience building and leading a new staff team.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Excellent safeguarding knowledge.
• Proven leadership and people-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the registration, mobilisation and development of the new service.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the children's home.
• Recruit, develop and lead a brand-new staff team.
• Establish a positive, child-centred culture within the home.
• Ensure high-quality, individualised care and safeguarding practices.
