Job summary

Health Recruit Network is seeking a Registered Manager for a 3-bed children’s residential home in Bedford. You will lead the team, ensure safety, deliver high-quality care and maintain rigorous safeguarding standards.

The role requires at least 2 years in residential childcare with supervisory experience, an NVQ Level 5 (or in progress) and a solid grasp of Ofsted regulations. Monday–Friday with a home-based admin day supports a balanced leadership position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' residential childcare experience within the last 5 years.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and current legislation.
• Professional, dependable and accountable approach.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leading, supporting and developing the residential care team.
• Ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and practice.
• Promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Managing care plans, risk assessments, incidents and safeguarding.
• Ensuring compliance with Ofsted requirements and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
• Maintaining accurate records and effective quality assurance.
• Working closely with social workers, local authorities, families and other professionals.
• Managing staff supervision, training and performance.
• Ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment.
