Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd. in Swanley, Kent is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility on high‑value projects for a main contractor. You will work with the Project Manager, commercial team, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to protect and maximise margins.

The role emphasizes managing contracts, negotiating with stakeholders and delivering sound commercial decisions with a view to heading up the commercial team in the years to come.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and contract knowledge.
• Ability to manage own workload and collaborate with senior teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reporting and financial performance.
• Administer contracts in line with terms, focusing on JCT forms.
• Prepare, review and manage applications for payment, valuations and variations.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities across the project lifecycle.
• Review subcontractor applications, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Manage contractual notices, extensions of time and related matters.
• Monitor costs against budgets and provide accurate forecasts.
• Assist with resolving commercial and contractual disputes when required.
• Contribute to improved commercial processes and controls across projects.
