Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor in Swanley, Kent. You will take commercial responsibility for projects, collaborating with the Project Manager, commercial team, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

You will be confident in managing contracts, negotiating with stakeholders, and making commercially sound decisions with a view to leading the commercial team in the future. This permanent, full-time role offers a clear path to seniority within a respected contractor

Qualifications

• Experience with JCT contracts and commercial management.
• Strong grasp of contract terms and valuation processes.
• Ability to manage budgets, forecasts and commercial risk.

Responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reporting and financial performance.
• Administer contracts in accordance with JCT terms; emphasise contract compliance.
• Prepare, review and manage applications for payment, valuations, variations and changes.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review subcontractor applications, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Manage contractual notices, extensions of time and other relevant commercial matters.
• Monitor project costs against budgets and provide accurate financial forecasts.
• Assist with resolution of commercial and contractual disputes when required.
• Contribute to improving commercial processes and maintaining strong commercial controls across projects.
