Job summary

NRL Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a Teesside project. The role focuses on commercial management, NEC contract administration and robust cost control across complex infrastructure works.

The successful candidate will measure, value and manage costs, prepare payments, and monitor contract performance while mentoring junior staff and ensuring value-for-money across the programme.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
• Strong NEC contract administration experience.
• Proven ability to manage costs, contracts and commercial reporting.
• Working towards or holding RICS membership (or equivalent).
• Experience mentoring junior members of the team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer NEC contracts on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• Measure, record and value work independently in line with procedures.
• Prepare applications for payment, data assurance, analysis and final accounts.
• Manage project accounting systems, monitor costs and prepare cost/value reconciliations.
• Review programmes of work and identify commercial activities to support project objectives.
• Oversee supplier procurement, contract administration and value-for-money assurance.
• Identify, communicate and manage risk with the project team.
• Support the professional growth of other team members through mentoring.
