Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a senior Protection & Control engineer to lead the scope on substation projects in the UK. You will focus on relay configuration, testing, and commissioning support, ensuring integrated, testable protection schemes aligned with customer requirements.

You will collaborate with Design and Substation Automation teams, mentor engineers, and engage in technical reviews, FAT demonstrations, and bid activities. The role offers flexible working arrangements within the UK.

Qualifications

12+ years in protection and control engineering for substations.
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related discipline.
Excellent written and verbal communication for customer-facing discussions during FAT and reviews.

Responsibilities

Own the protection and control engineering scope on allocated projects, reviewing and approving settings, logic, and test strategies.
Provide senior input on standards application, protection philosophies, customer specifications, and governance within the P&C scope.
Support design reviews, hazard reviews, and project safety reviews, considering CDM and testing risk where applicable.
Lead technical clarifications with customers and suppliers regarding protection schemes and acceptance criteria.
Assist in bids and planning: provide effort estimates and engineering planning for the P&C scope.
