Job summary

Siemens Energy in Manchester seeks a senior engineering leader to guide a high voltage protection and control team. You will allocate work, set priorities, resolve conflicts, and support engineers technically and professionally.

You will represent the domain in discussions with project managers and customers, uphold standards, coach engineers, and shape hiring decisions while driving delivery and team wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience leading, coaching, or mentoring engineers.
• Strong communication with stakeholders and customers.
• Sound judgment balancing delivery pressure, quality, and team well-being.
• Technical credibility in protection and control engineering for HV substations.
• Collaborative servant-leadership style enabling others while holding accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations and allocate work across the team.
• Maintain and raise standards and ways of working across the team.
• Coach engineers and identify development plans to close capability gaps.
• Influence hiring and promotions to build a strong, well-rounded team.
• Act as a senior point of contact in project discussions with customers and cross-discipline teams.
