Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an experienced protection and control engineering leader for substations in the UK. You will own the protection scope on allocated projects, review settings and test strategies, and collaborate with customers across FAT and design reviews.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to standards and governance, and support bids and planning while ensuring safe, compliant, and testable protection schemes ready for customer review.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in protection and control engineering for substations
• Experience leading engineers with emphasis on quality and documentation
• Strong communication skills for customer-facing discussions during FAT and reviews
• Familiarity with protection philosophies, relay functions, IEC 61850 applications

Responsibilities

• Take Technical Responsibility: own the protection and control engineering scope, review settings, logic and test strategies.
• Lead Technical Clarifications: be the point of contact for technical clarifications with customers and suppliers about protection schemes and acceptance criteria
• Assist in Bids and Planning: support bids, technical offers, effort estimates, and engineering planning for the P&C scope
