Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in the Grid Technologies Substations division to lead critical infrastructure projects for UK clients SPEN and SSE, spanning design to handover with emphasis on safety and profitability.

You will steer cross‑functional teams, manage budgets and schedules, engage stakeholders and uphold rigorous project controls to deliver reliable energy solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience leading complex engineering or construction projects in high-voltage transmission, distribution, or substation sectors.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with major UK utility clients is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules and resource allocations for substation projects.
• Oversee all project phases from design and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover.
• Implement and enforce quality control and H&S standards across sites and activities.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks including technical, commercial and scheduling issues.
• Manage project documentation including progress reports, change orders and final closure documents.
